My mom is having a HUGE sciatica crisis and we wonder if a massage in the middle of the crisis is a good idea?

Or should we just wait (she is in severe pain) unti the crisis goes away (hopefuly not for too much longer)??!!?! Do you recommend a massage, a chiropractor or what else?!?!?!Thank you for your assistance!

It is right on my spine and is slightly swollen. I am having trouble finding a chiropractor on my insurance plan, so in the mean time I am trying to figure out whats going on. It hurts when i sit, stand, lay down, etc. I have some tightness in my shoulders and sides when the pain is at its worse…what could this be?
